One of a kind means one.
Hobbsy keeps one honest stock count across every place you sell — so listing here doesn't mean selling the same piece twice.
The reason makers don't list in more places
It isn't the listing fees. It's that you made one of them. A second storefront doubles the chance that two people buy the same piece within the same hour — and then you are the one writing the apology, refunding a stranger, and explaining that the thing they were excited about never existed twice.
So "you should also list on Hobbsy" lands, for most makers, as "you should take on more risk for the same stock". That is a fair thing to think, and it is the thing we built for first.
A shop with three storefronts and one shelf needs one shelf count — not three.
That is the whole idea. Everything below is how we do it.
How it works
Your stock lives in one place. Every storefront you connect reads from it, and every sale writes back to it — within seconds, not on a nightly sync.
- Sells anywhere, comes down everywhere. A piece bought on another site is pulled from your Hobbsy listing before the next shopper can add it to a cart.
- Sells here, comes down there. The same in reverse — Hobbsy pushes the sale out to the channels you've connected.
- Nothing to remember. No spreadsheet, no end-of-day reconciliation, no "did I take that down?" at 11pm.
For a maker with a market stall, an Etsy shop, and their own site, this is the difference between four storefronts and four separate inventories you keep in your head.
What you can connect
Hobbsy talks to the places makers already sell — other marketplaces, your own store, and the in-person sales that never had a system at all. A craft-fair sale can be logged from your phone before you've handed over the bag, and the item is gone from every listing by the time you look up.
Nothing here demands that you leave anywhere else. We would rather be one honest channel among yours than ask you to bet a season's work on us.
Where we're honest about the limits
Some platforms don't offer a way in — no API, no webhook, no export. We can't sync what won't talk to us, and we won't pretend otherwise. For those, Hobbsy tells you what changed and what needs your hand, rather than quietly letting the numbers drift.
And when two sales genuinely land at the same instant on different channels, someone has to lose. We tell you immediately, with the buyer's details and a draft apology, instead of letting you find out from a one-star review a week later.
Hobbsy is opening soon. If limited stock is what has kept you off new marketplaces, this is the part we built for you.
